News went round that creative individuals, organisations and government policy holders should boycott the British Council Creative Industries Expo 2014 held at the Westown Hotels in Ikeja Lagos.
British Council quickly sent another text countering these boycott clarion and told stakeholders to still attend the event. Well, I did and I would have blamed myself if I didn't but none of the warring sides (British Council & COSON) disclosed reasons for the disagreement. The Expo was a great event (as usual) and the participant took home valuables that could not be quantified.
The topic was :COLLABORATION: The Power of Shared Knowledge and Resources in Building a Creative Ecosystem and it was a two day event; 8th and 9th of December 2014. I attended the 9th and the speakers were Mr. Paul Nwulu from the Ford Foundation; Andrea Burns from the ROCO project Sheffield UK, and Marc Andrea Schmachtel from the Goethe Institute.
They spoke on Developing a Media Hub for Social Change, The ROCO story and Printing Press Project respectively.
Below are the pictures from the event
