Jonathan Sacks Inspector General of Police through Twitter

 

Inpector General of Police, Suleiman Abba has been sacked few minutes ago by the President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. The announcement was made on twitter by Reuben Abati, Presedential spokesman. DIG Solomon Arase has been appointed as acting IGP in his stead.


 A reliable source said: “There is disquiet in the Presidency on whether or not to drop the IGP for certain missteps. I think the IGP chose a neutral position and opted to live up to his oath of office during the general election.”

“The IGP’s presence during the presentation of certificate of return to Buhari left many presidency officials dazed because it was alleged not to be within his official “mandate.”

“The presence of the IGP at the National Collation Centre with Buhari was rated as a partisan move and a provocative initiative.

He was the 17th Indigenous Inspector-General of Police and was appointed by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR on August 1, 2014. Before he took his oath of office, the former Police boss was IGP MD Abubakar (Rtd) who had successfully piloted the affairs of the Force from 25th January, 2012 when he was appointed to July 31, 2014, having completed 35 years of service.
 
Abba Suleiman hails from Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa State holds degrees in History and Law and has attended several management and security courses within and outside Nigeria. He is an alumnus of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos.

He is known for his vast experience in criminal investigation, intelligence-led policing and crime-fighting operations.

It has been revealed that the police boss did not act according to script to rig elections for the PDP especially in Lagos, Oyo, Ondo, Ogun, Osun, Bauchi, Kaduna and Kwara.
