I
wrote about the weakness shown by Russia in annexing Crimea into its
confederation and President Obama yesterday was wise enough to see it the same
way. Every observer of history especially
modern history would have observed
the monumental powers in the hands of countries like US, Russia and China. Their
military, economic and media powers are tortuously endless and it leaves them with
just one option; the strength not to USE these powers for personal gains.
I
said last week in my blog that "Brute
show of power is always in the confines of the weak because the powerful is one
that has such power yet restricts himself from using it at slightest
provocation." This behoves upon the powerful to restricts himself and
in the words of Charles Carlton " It is a
mistake, that a lust for power is the mark of a great mind; for even the
weakest have been captivated by it; and for minds of the highest order, it has
no charms"
he was explicit enough.
Nonetheless,
I am more interested, as is with most world leaders, in the move after Crimea. Is
this the end to the renaissance of Moscow's Old Soviet Union? Is this the last encroachment
to be seen by Russia or as reports keeps barging out daily, are we yet to see
the worse? Vladmir Putin seems to have done a good job at making himself become
the mysterious leader of the Neo-Russian cum Soviet Union activist and if we
are to go by recent activities, he is also a fantastic strategist. He gives
little away yet acts like he wants the best for all.
The
world will keep watching with one eyes closed and the other wide open. Hopefully,
our human race will not be obliterated by our human race.
