Just few weeks ago, I read somewhere that Prime Minister Netanyahu (A pragmatic true Jew), Israeli leader agreed to a peace deal with Abbas, his Palestinian counterpart and for the first time in my adult life it seemed like the biblical prophecies were about to be archaic and false.
Alas, the old saying in Africa that posits that"The distance the old sage will see seated, a young man will stand tall yet won't see it" is true in its creed. The Bible becomes truer than truth itself today.
The cat and mouse game played between Israel and Palestine portends great danger to themselves and to all of us as always. This neighbours of over 4,000 years have disagreed for as ever as they have known or seen each other. I can't arms-chair on the issue as an expert because I have neither been to Israel or Palestine but every time I see on the news this war-mongering stance between them, I am but worried.
This morning, you can ostensibly understand my plight when I saw on the news again that Israel has suspended talks and I am like AAAAARRRRRRGHHHH!!! On the Guardian it says;
Israel
has hit back hard following an agreement on Palestinian unity by
suspending already faltering peace negotiations just days before the
expiry of a deadline for the US-brokered process. The Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, accused the western-backed Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas,
of forming an alliance with Hamas, which he called "a terrorist
organisation that calls for the destruction of Israel" – and hinted at
further retaliatory measures.
Excuse me Mr. Netanyahu or whatever your name is. You knew deep in your heart before you agreed to the peace deal in the first place that you were just wasted the time of the United States of America and it's allies that wanted peace in the already war destroyed Middle East. You wasted Mr John Kerry's time, energy and resources.
"On the face of it, the decision to suspend talks is a blow to the US secretary of state, John Kerry,
who has spent almost nine months trying to coax Israelis and
Palestinians into an agreement about the conflict's most contentious
issues."
You lied to us all and led us on to believing that for once, the Jews won't have to live in perpetual fear of their lookalike neighbours, Palestine.
We all know Hamas is a terrorist group and it may seem that President Mahmoud is not fully committed to peace as you want by aligning with Hamas but now you have shown us that you are more ready to chicken out of a peace deal as soon as all the cards are not played in your favour. In a peace negotiations, or conflict resolutions, no single party gets all it's wishes. You must be ready to.... I think I am talking too much. Right? okay!
Simple truth?
Israel will never be at peace, whether with Palestine or the rest of the world. I think it's their curse!
Shalom!
