Lauryn Hill at 13, Booed on Stage!

When I saw this video, I was moved and I instantly thought I'd share it to inspire someone. Lauryn at 13 was an amateur singer and never sang in front of an audience before, not to talk of Apollo's never forgiving audience.

She started singing this lovely song "Who's Loving you" and because she wasn't so close to the microphone, coupled with the anxiety (which is normal if you are standing in front of a crowd) not to fail, some section of the crowd started 'booing' a 13 year old girl.

However, if you watch closely, she instantly moved from fear and trepidation to confidence and motivation. She picked up the microphone from the stand, dusted herself and sang into it. This made tears flow down my eyes.

This was a split second decision that determined her life forever. Was she going to give up because people booed her or should she use that negative energy to challenge herself? Right there on the stage, she changed the tide, at 13 years of age, the rest as they say, is HISTORY!

Today, I don't know what you are going through and you feel the reason for your failure is because people don't believe in you, or support you enough or are trying to bring you down. That is exactly what you need because the less they believe or support or aid you, the better chances you have to reach for your inner resources to succeed.

NB:

Lauryn Hill's Album "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" sold over 8 million copies in the USA alone and she won 5 Grammy Awards including "Album of the Year" and "Best New Artist". That is for the girl that almost got booed off the stage.
