MAN CITY CROWNED EPL CHAMPION TWICE IN 3 YEARS

After agonizingly playing 38 matches in the cause of 9 months all over England in the first division football, goals from Samir Nasri and Vincent Kompany defeated West Ham United 2-0 and ensured that City ended the season on 86 points thereby becoming the champions of the EPL.

It was not a sweet cruise to become champions, in fact Man City led the log for only 13 days, compared to Liverpool’s 34 and Arsenal’s 128 days. But as Wenger had said while being questioned, Man City managed to win the title with brittle, experience and quality on their side.
“Man City were (was) just getting over the line without the brilliance they had shown at the start of the season but they had experience, quality and congratulations to them. They came a little bit from behind because they had three games in hand at some stage. But they managed to win these games.” Wenger said.
The players were all very elated and Kompany mused over the microphone as he was asked about how he felt winning it. Kompany echoed his Chilean manager. "It's a great achievement. It will be recognised," said the captain. "We're building a big club and I'm proud to be part of this. We did everything right this season."

The past champion, Manchester United will not be in Europe this season and the interim manager, Ryan Giggs has voiced his opinion that once the permanent manager has been chosen, last season’s champions must leverage on their absence in Europe to get back to the quality they can produce and be back at their best.
