WHY WE SHOULD NOT VOTE FOR THE APC COME 2015

Today, I’m in a really super mood to write and my next inspired piece will harbour on Nigerian politics. We are not oblivion of the power game going on and the opposition party dancing around the mishaps bedeviling the PDP and Nigeria as a nation which makes me stop-a-ponder about what politricks are inherent in this all

The APC are the luckiest party to benefit from PDP’s woes and they seem to sink their teeth into anything that makes the PDP look bad and weak and corrupt and rudderless (not that the PDP itself is not giving them stuffs to fester upon). So, I am a little skeptic and I have several questions to ask.

I read something online earlier today and the writer was asking; what better options are the opposition offering us? They seem to crucify PDP and cynically pontificate about themselves but none (Nigerians)  has seen what they really have to offer. Governor Fashola seem to be the yardstick of their achievement but even the governor himself have his own demons to fight and sources close to him talk of the silent fights between him and his godfather, Tinubu.

That is a story for another day but back to the matter. What exactly is the APC offering?

QUESTION: Are they promising it’s citizenry that education will be subsidized? ANSWER: Check LASU and the 10,000% increment in school fees; it’s never gonna happen.

QUESTION: Are they saying electricity will be stable if we vote in APC? ANSWER: Check Tinubu’s track record with ENRON projects; it failed WOEFULLY!

QUESTION: Are they promising us that all eligible citizens will be employed? ANSWER: Fashola banned the popular okada without recourse to what the behemoth populace, both graduates and illiterates, disenfranchised will do to earn a living.

QUESTION: Will they obey the law when they win the power seat in Abuja and make sure all judgments passed are obeyed by the presidency? ANSWER: NO!!!!!! They are yet to stop collecting toll fee from motorist on Ikoyi Bridge despite courts injunctions ordering them to stop.

QUESTION: Will they stop BH and every other insurgencies that have hindered Nigeria’s progress in the last 7 years? ANSWER: of course not! All they have done since BH wahala  is blame GEJ and never profer solutions or lend ideas for the scourge to be ended. They merely benefit from the situation by politicizing it, ALWAYS!

So, with all these questions being asked and obvious answers being given, APC don’t really seem to be the alternative to the present government. They are as corrupt and as clueless and as indiscipline as whoever has ruled Nigeria for the past 15 years or more. All they really want is to rein in power and perpetuate themselves for themselves and cronies.

We could almost be certain that with their emergence (if they eventually win), we will get more excuses why they can’t achieve their (unwritten and ambiguous) manifestoes. (I trust they might keep blaming PDP even as their man is the Grand Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria)

To me therefore, APC is the same of the same. The leaders in charge of the party are as clueless and unbending in their views about how leadership should be. They seek power for just one reason: TO HAVE IT! And as long as they hold on to the party without really allowing the younger and vibrant ones that can really change the polity to be truly independent and active, we all face the danger of the syndrome called; SAME OF THE SAME!
